Liesel Schmitz, Executive Assistant & Podcast Coordinator
A Cincinnati native, Liesel’s parents fostered the idea of experiencing anything and everything at an early age. Having always been surrounded by her support system, she broke the “bubble” of her small town and move to Indy where she earned a degree in Theatre with a technical concentration and focus in Stage Management from the University of Indianapolis and found a new place to call home. When Liesel isn’t working, she is trying new restaurants around Indy or binging docuseries on Netflix.
Service has always been a part of her life. Between her Girl Scout Troop community service projects, Bronze and Silver Award, and parents’ taking her to Matthew’s 25 Ministries, Liesel served as much as she could when she was young. Liesel met Derrin through her on-campus job at the Center for Service-Learning and Community Engagement during the Youth Empowerment Camp. After coming down after the camp high, Liesel realized she missed serving in her community. Derrin allowed her to combine her love of organization and serving. Even more, Liesel helps others share their stories to inspire others to step up and serve.
